I NEED HELP WITH MY PITBULL PUPPY?

i have a baby 6 month old pit bull now hes half american pitbull and half rednose today i had to go out so i locked him up in my bathroom because i was afraid he was gona tear up my furniture while i was gone but instead he tore down as in ripped up the whole other side of my bathroom door i couldn't believe it when i got home mind you i put his 2 favorite toys in the bathroom with him and his water i fed him earlier before i left and didnt give him his food because the last time i did that i came home to nothing but **** everywhere and i had to scrub down everything and even give him a bath and yes i walk him regularly my question is this how can i train him not to destroy things while im away from home what should i do and also can i correct his behavior he's already trained as far as being told to sit he does that on command but i just dont want him to start wrecking up my home while im gone any suggestions because hes a really sweet dog has a nice disposition and is very lovable i just dont know why he does this can someone help me to help him break out of this habit ,,thanks ...E
